INTEC 2026, the 21st edition of the International Machine Tools & Industrial Trade Fair held at the CODISSIA Trade Fair Complex in Coimbatore, offered a compelling illustration of this phenomenon. Over 460 participants representing 20 countries occupied more than 700 stalls spread across seven halls, creating an environment where ideas, applications and commercial opportunities converged under one roof. Visitor counts and participation figures provide useful context, although the significance of an event is often found elsewhere.
What stood out across the venue was the pace at which industrial priorities are evolving. Production facilities are increasingly incorporating robotics, analytics, intelligent controls, inspection systems, connected operations and software-enabled decision-making into daily activities. Alongside the exhibition, GMCV 2047 (Global Manufacturing Cluster Vision), offered a forum where thought leaders, policymakers, association representatives and business executives examined future possibilities for Indian enterprise. The focus extended well beyond current market conditions to areas such as capability enhancement, investment attraction and increased participation within global value chains.
