Fourteen award recipients recognised across safety technology, intelligent hazard detection and ESG initiatives at KINTEX
Construction sites rely on inspection routines, protective equipment and established safety procedures to manage risks associated with heavy machinery, elevated work and complex building tasks. Digital sensors, computer vision, connected devices and artificial intelligence are adding new methods to identify hazards, alert site teams and support preventive measures. Robotics and automated monitoring are also expanding the technical resources available to construction safety professionals.
K-CONSAFETY EXPO 2026, held October 14 to 16 at KINTEX Exhibition Center 1 in South Korea, presented developments in AI, robotics, smart construction and advanced safety technologies. The K-Consafety Awards ceremony, held on October 16, recognised 14 companies and organisations for their contributions to worker protection, hazard prevention and safety management.
Jointly organised by five construction safety organisations and KINTEX, the awards programme recognised practical technologies designed to reduce serious accidents and improve safety practices at construction sites. This year’s programme introduced a dedicated Construction AI category alongside Innovative Technology and ESG & Shared Growth. A total of 54 entries underwent document review and technical assessment by an eight-member panel of specialists representing business, academia and media. 14 recipients were selected, with six awards in Innovative Technology, six in Construction AI and two in ESG & Shared Growth.
The Innovative Technology category recognised Meissa for its smart safety monitoring solution and K2 Safety for its smart airbag vest. Daehan Heavy Industries received recognition for its rotating link, while JK was recognised for MAXIMUM2. Isan Engineering received an award for its ESP/GLS systems, and OneMoreSecurity was recognised for OneMoreEye. The awarded technologies covered equipment safety, personal protection and intelligent site monitoring.
The Construction AI category addressed automated hazard detection and real-time alerts. Seonggeon Engineering received recognition for OASIS-L, an AI safety monitoring system designed for areas without communications coverage. KCT E&C was recognised for Meerkat, an AIoT sensor-based alert system for real-time hazard detection. Other recipients included Youngshin D&C for NexusCAM, SAIGE for SAIGE SAFETY, HiLocal for HiWorker and ITONE for GeoNEX. Their solutions span AI-enabled video monitoring, safety assessment, connected sensors and digital site information.
The ESG & Shared Growth category recognised initiatives extending beyond equipment and software. The Construction Safety Monitoring Association received an award for advancing the professional standards and public role of safety monitors. The Gyeonggi-do Construction Safety Technology Division was recognised for developing a practical ESG management framework for the regional construction sector.
The organising office said the awards demonstrated the contribution of AI, practical safety technology and ESG initiatives to future construction safety. It also expressed its intention to encourage cooperation among technology developers, construction companies and public institutions, with the aim of expanding technology adoption and preventing serious accidents.
KINTEX presented the recognised technologies in a dedicated showcase and facilitated connections with construction companies and public-sector buyers. Complimentary booth space at the next exhibition is planned for award recipients.
K-CONSAFETY EXPO 2026 concluded on October 16 with attention on AI-enabled monitoring, robotics, worker protection and practical safety management. The award programme recognised technical advances across equipment, digital monitoring and public-sector initiatives, illustrating the range of approaches being applied to accident prevention at construction sites.
