Strategic Platform Connects Indian Lifestyle Brands with Italian Buyers, Distributors and European Market Networks
India | May 13, 2026

India and Italy continue witnessing growing commercial cooperation across manufacturing, fashion, engineering, automotive systems, design, wellness, food processing and advanced technologies. Bilateral trade volumes, institutional partnerships and industrial collaboration have steadily expanded over recent years, positioning the India-Italy corridor among the important business relationships developing across Europe and Asia.

Italy remains one of India’s significant European trade partners, while Indian companies continue expanding their commercial visibility across Italian and wider European markets through exports, technology partnerships and premium consumer categories. Simultaneously, Italian buyers and distributors are displaying rising interest in authentic, design-orientated and value-focused Indian brands operating across lifestyle, craftsmanship and technology-led sectors.

Amidst this growing commercial activity, the Indo-Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IICCI) hosted Namaste India 2026 on May 12 and 13 at Palazzo Giureconsulti in Milan, positioning the initiative as a strategic business access platform for Indian brands seeking expansion across Italy and the wider European commercial ecosystem.

Organized by IICCI, which marks over 60 years at the centre of Indo-Italian commercial relations, the Milan initiative was developed around structured market access, commercial positioning and business expansion rather than conventional exhibition visibility. The platform brought together Indian lifestyle brands, Italian distributors, retailers, importers, institutional representatives and commercial operators under a framework centred on B2B interaction, strategic networking and long-term business collaboration.

Hosted at Palazzo Giureconsulti, Piazza Mercanti 22, situated near Piazza Duomo in Milan’s commercial district, the programme combined curated showcases, one-to-one business meetings, industry discussions and institutional networking across two days. The historic venue, previously associated with the Milan Stock Exchange, added further commercial significance to the platform.

The opening day focused on curated B2B meetings involving selected Indian companies and Italian distributors, retailers, importers and category-specific stakeholders. The second day featured high-level discussions and exhibition showcases centred on European market entry strategies, commercial expansion opportunities and Indo-Italian business collaboration.

Claudio Maffioletti, CEO of the Indo-Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IICCI), underlined the growing importance of commercially structured platforms capable of creating meaningful interaction between Indian and Italian enterprises operating across premium sectors.

The platform also witnessed participation and institutional support by Shri Lavanya Kumar, Consul General of India at Milan, alongside representatives associated with Promos Italia and Regione Lombardia, both actively involved in supporting the commercial framework behind the initiative. Shri Neeraj Khanna, Chairman EPCH, and Mr. Abhijeet Sinha, National Program Director – Ease of Doing Business (EoDB), were among the prominent participants connected with the Milan programme.

Namaste India 2026 positioned Italy as an important European gateway for Indian brands operating across premium lifestyle and design-oriented sectors. The initiative focused on creating commercially relevant interaction between Indian companies and Italian operators rather than general exhibition exposure.

Participation extended across fashion and accessories, wellness and personal care, food and beverages, design and craftsmanship, automotive technologies and AI-powered industrial systems.

Fashion participants included contemporary and traditional apparel, textiles, jewellery and leather goods linked to distinctive design narratives. Wellness and personal care brands presented Ayurvedic cosmetics, skincare products, aromatherapy systems and holistic wellness offerings. Food and beverage participation included specialty teas, spices, gourmet products and organic ingredients connected to India’s culinary heritage.

The platform also extended beyond traditional lifestyle categories. Automotive participants presented engineering systems, aftermarket technologies and industrial components, while AI-focused companies showcased software platforms and intelligent systems linked to industrial and operational efficiency.

One of the defining aspects of Namaste India 2026 remained its commercially curated structure. IICCI actively identified and shortlisted Italian counterparts aligned with participating Indian companies, including distributors, importers, retailers, concept stores and sector-specific operators. The programme also included targeted partner scouting, institutional networking and visibility through Italian lifestyle, trade and business media channels.

The initiative was organized in partnership with Regione Lombardia, Promos Italia, Fidenza Village as a supporting partner and Rödl & Partner.

The 2026 edition marked the second phase of expansion following the inaugural Milan edition organized in June 2025. Future plans outlined during the programme include sector-focused editions across Europe, integration alongside major Italian trade fairs, expanded distributor partnerships and continued collaboration involving Italian commercial institutions and industry operators.

As Indian brands continue expanding across premium consumer, design, wellness, fashion and technology sectors globally, platforms such as Namaste India are steadily creating commercially structured entry points into European markets. The Milan initiative also highlighted a larger transition underway in India’s export ecosystem, where Indian companies are increasingly building international presence through design capability, manufacturing strength, product value and long-term commercial partnerships across global markets.

“India and Italy are two economies with very different industrial histories, yet there is a strong commercial alignment becoming increasingly visible between them. Italy brings legacy in design, craftsmanship, premium manufacturing and market sophistication, while India brings scale, engineering capability, product diversity and rapidly expanding entrepreneurial energy. Platforms such as Namaste India 2026 show how this relationship is moving toward deeper business integration across lifestyle, technology and industrial sectors. The long-term significance lies in how Indian companies are beginning to enter European markets with stronger positioning, greater confidence and commercially mature business approaches.”
